Renowned for serving as the resting place for Pahiyan Bhikkhu, a Chinese Buddhist monk who visited Sri Lanka, Pahiyangala has a natural rock cave which is said to be the only one of its kind in Asia. Being a prominent historical and natural attraction, the site also consists of a temple.
Pahiyangala Cave is located in the Kalutara District of Sri Lanka. Renowned for its ancient cave formations and rich history, Pahiyangala is believed to be one of the oldest inhabited caves on the island, with evidence of human settlement dating back over 12,000 years.
